Pic of the Day

Todays photo comes from a recent trip to my home state of Oklahoma for the holidays. My wife and I took a trip there to see my family for Christmas. This particular trip was made interesting by the recent weather that Oklahoma had received prior to our arrival.

Just before we got there, the state got a large storm of freezing rain. This unusual weather left every blade of grass, every tree branch, and nearly everything you could see, completely iced over. Madeline had never seen such a thing, so it was cool to be able to explore my home state while it was a glassy wonderland.

Every step would crunch and crackle under our feet like nothing you had ever felt. It was a fun time and fortunately for us the roads remained completely dry and allowed us to travel safely.

Upon our arrival into the last town we stopped in before we headed home to Tennessee, I decided to show her one of the houses I lived in when I was a wee laddy. The house was run down, but it still held many memories for me. As we left the neighborhood I had to stop to take a picture of these tracks that I rememberd riding over with my parents every day as a young fella. The glassy scene that made it very unique. We then left to visit my Aunt Fern, and then drove home that evening.

It was a great trip and I am glad it provided an interesting landscape, because I must say that even though it's my home, Oklahoma can be a very boring place to drive through.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy todays Pic of the Day
